On the 10th of September 2025, The Democracy and Legal Aid Centre, in collaboration with COVAW Kenya, the State Department for Gender Affairs and Affirmative Action, and the Nairobi County Government, convened the Nairobi County Sector Working Group Meeting to review progress and strengthen coordination on gender and inclusion initiatives.
The meeting brought together five sub-sector working groups focused on:

Gender-Based Violence (GBV)

Socio-Economic Empowerment and Financial Inclusion

Women in Leadership and Training

Disability Mainstreaming

Male Engagement and Inclusion
During the session, partners presented progress reports and thematic work plans, highlighting achievements, challenges, and lessons learned. The discussions allowed stakeholders to identify gaps, share best practices, and develop joint solutions to improve implementation across all focus areas.
The meeting concluded with a clear way forward for each sub-sector working group, reinforcing collective commitment to advancing gender equality, inclusion, and empowerment within Nairobi County.
